Pictured here with members of S. Peter’s Collegiate School Concert Band is Rev. Phil Wootton of Christ Church, Tettenhall Wood, presenting a cheque to Jon Peacock, Music Teacher at the school.

Along with the Concert Band, S. Peter’s Collegiate School Senior Choir and Big Band performed a concert at Christ Church on 18th October as part of their International Concert Series.

The packed audience was treated to a selection of music from sacred, popular, film, stage and classical genres and the young musicians negotiated their solo and ensemble playing admirably.

This is the third year that Clive Childs, Concert Series organiser from Christ Church has promoted a concert with musicians from S. Peter’s and he has already kindly invited them back yet again for a fourth year to perform as part of the church 150 year celebrations in September 2016.

Clive works tirelessly to ensure both audience and musicians are looked after and remarked that the community partnership between church and school was growing stronger year by year.

Toby Barnard, Director of Learning for Performing Arts at S.Peter’s commented that the young musicians really benefit from such performing opportunities and any attempt to bring communities closer is to be applauded. He extends thanks to Rev. Wootton, Clive Childs and the community of Christ Church, Tettenhall for their generous support of music making at S. Peter’s.
