Despite only trying Judo for the first time in February 2014 when she joined Wolverhampton Judo Club, Megan Lincoln (11RC) continues to go from success to success and is already performing in international competitions.  Over this very short time she has won numerous medals and performed at a national and international level. Notable accolades include Silver in the Kent Internal Open, Bronze in the Walsall Area Open, seventh in the Welsh Open and Silver in the Zuidland International Open in Holland.
Megan had an experience to remember, travelling to Holland with her team mates and coaches and staying with Dutch families.  To make the trip even better when competition time came Megan won a Silver in the under 21’s category. Unfortunately Megan suffered an injury in the last fight and was unable to compete in the senior competition. Megan finished off a fantastic 2014 by competing in the British National Championships in December and by being promoted up the Judo junior grading system to a 10th mon, a green belt.
Megan’s impressively quick progress can be attributed to her natural athleticism and talent but also to her enthusiasm, dedication, perseverance and drive to keep improving. She carefully balances her 3 hours training sessions with her GCSE studies.
We wish Megan lots of luck for what we are sure is going to be a successful 2015
