The intent of our school curriculum is to;

  • Provide an inspiring and broad curriculum that is; balanced, inclusive, challenging and nurturing, to ensure accessibility to all of our students.
  • Develop an understanding of personal wellbeing and safety, physically and mentally, in all students.
  • Facilitate a learning experience that grows year on year, developing skills along the way that support and prepare students in their future learning and life, including; identifying transferable skills, confidence building, independence and team work.
  • Ensure that all students develop the high levels of numeracy and literacy to initially access the wider curriculum in school and subsequently succeed in adult life.
  • Stretch and enable students to access their potential and to attain their highest outcomes possible, by ensuring opportunities and learning experiences that empower them to progress to Higher Education, Apprenticeships and Employment.
  • Broaden the perspectives of all students to develop their moral and social responsibility and to be considerate individuals, supportive and accepting of the wide variety of cultures, lifestyles & beliefs from which our wonderful City is made.
  • Encourage the resilience and character growth required to help students to grow into confident adults, able to make considered choices and overcome the challenges that life brings.
